potion effect bug?

potion effect bug?

(2023.3 snapshot) i cant seem to get my potion effect to work it shows up in inventory but none of the procedures i have set to go off when the effect is aplied are happening unless i choose an additional trigger but when i add an itemstack dependency to make that specific to the item used it says missing dependencies. i see that there could be complications adding an item dependency to the when effect aplied trigger. but i dont think it would bother me any seeing as i only want the effect to be triggered by eating a specific item. i even tried just making a separate procedure with only the additional dependency "player uses item"-->if -->provided itemstack=    " said item"  do potion effect (i triede lvl1 and 5) for however many ticks and it just shows the potion effect with none of my procedures happening. i had the same problem making warden removing potions but that i could just do the procedure with the trigger: on active tick because they would just despawn and drop a diamond. but with this one i have a song play, wait certain amount of ticks send a chat, wait  more ticks, set player on fire for 1 min plus i have it set to make the player able to fly and is invulnerable for the durration of the song and i can only seem to get it to work if i use the potins effect trigger: on active tick. i mean thats still fun to watch but it destryoys chat the song sounds bad and it basicaly makes a lightning cloud that follows you with a delay. i read one forum from 3 years ago saying the same thing was an mcreator bug that got fixed it could be the same one but what do i know it could still be an ID10T error on my part i still stuck on adding a <selection> element on freecodecamp. i also wanna say again you guys came out with this snapshot really fast thank you;)
