I'm super down for helping out with this mod. I love Terraria, and I've always wanted to see someone bring something like this to life. I'd be more than happy to do some of the mob models for you in Techne. I'd also be down to do the Hellforge in MCFM. For the Hellforge the files should be .json, jsyk.
