So I believe that the bucket in crafting is actually the block itself, I will see if this is true and get back to you!
so it isn't actually the block, You could make your own bucket/item that you can then use in the crafting.
the problem is that when i create my own bucket y only know how to make the bucket put the liquid but no how to make the bucket take it from a lake
