Issue description

so when using custom armour models there is a variety of things that don't work arms are scaled wrong boots are too high and legs are duplicated I'm not sure anyway both the arms and the boots can be fixed however i haven't found one for the legs i have attached a photo my actual model is only the part below the waist I have tried multiple things from changing the model to adding in the chest piece for the model nothing seems to fix it

Issue comments

Custom model parts must not touch the original player model or the renderer fails to render the model properly.

how do you make it not touch do I have to make it a hollow box then why does the chest plate and boots work and how do I select multiple parts for the right and left leg.

that doesn't make any sense

You might think so, but this is how the rendering engine works in MC.

i have tested with a friend's model and it did the same thing even though it worked fine for him in 2020.1 i think this might be a bug with the snapshots or something. and if you say it can't touch the player model that doesn't tell me anything really as I'm not sure if that means any of the faces of the model can touch the player or if any part touches the player do you perhaps mean the texture's cant overlap i have no idea.

If that is the case, could you attach his model here so I can compare the code generated for the said model in 2020.1 and 2020.2? This way I might be able to see why this would be happening.

I need the textures he used too, textures are just as important as the model. Did you not check the tickets I linked to you?

i just tested it with a different texture and it seems to fix it wich is weird

i was using a skin texture as a base so maybe part of that is bad.
