What does the rest have to do with changing the code of a vanilla block? I don’t think you can do this yet anyway.

Changing the code of a vanilla block is useless.
1. Why do you want to do it?
2. You're not allowed to distribute any (modified) code of Minecraft. So unless you want to keep your mod to yourself, I unadvice you to do it.
