How do I make a block that acts like redstone, I know you can make a block connect, but not carry a signal over blocks. If there is a way to make it edmit a redstone signal that would help too.

you can't right now.
as far as I know, you can make a procedure that returns the power its receiving (in the world data block section) - 1 for emitted redstone power in the advanced properties setting
