Make a dimension portal use an existing igniter?

I was wondering if it was possible to make a dimension use and existing item as the igniter as of right now it just creates a second item with the same name and appearance with one that works and one that doesn't work.

or if that is not possible is it possible to give the igniter a crafting recipe somehow? because as of right now when I try to make a crafting recipe for the igniter it does not seem to give me the ability to select the igniter.
