How to make food hurt you

Im trying to make one of my custom foods hurt you when you eat it, but I have no idea how, and when I tried it gave me error messages.

please help

Make normal food, probably not have it restore hunger bars, and for the On Eaten Tick, use the damage procedure from the Entity section.
