Topic category: Mod showcase and discussion
I need to discuss something serious. A famous mod uploader (guy who created future versions) has been removing the mcreator tag from his mods
User tiptopmtg (https://www.curseforge.com/members/tiptopmtg/followers) has made a few mods, and if I remember correctly he used to have the lines in his mod descriptions attributing them to mcreator since if you look in the mod files the mcmeta and such displays mcreator, as do his class files.
However, a few months ago he has removed the credits tag from all his mods and started changing the mods.toml files and such so it looks like it was his. In addition, the curseforge pages for his mods no longer credit Mcreator.
There's a chance he finally learned how to code mods himself, but wasn't it against the rules or something to not credit Mcreator mods for mods you upload onto curseforge?
For example, here is one of his mods: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/future-minecraft
If anyone can clarify this it would help a lot. It just bothers me a bit that he took it off, because I thought it was against the EULA at some point.
This rule is no longer present since 2019.5, but it is still not nice they are not crediting MCreator if they still use it.
i see...
