Corrupted Files
I had started a big mod but I changed my PC. I had made good progress and I had downloaded it in .jar then I sent it to my email address.
When I received my new PC, I transformed the file into .mcreator but when I put it on the software it tells me that the file is corrupted. How can I get my mod back? Thank you in advance.

So... you exported your mod as a jar file, then sent it and just changed the file type to .mcreator?

Are you serious? Did you really try to only change the type of a file by changing its extension only? I don't know if you knew it, but a file has an extension for a reason. You can't change a file by changing its extension only and hope it will work. In addition, you tried to import the version you have to use in Minecraft.

Idk if this is related, but…

Idk if this is related, but can someone tell me why even though I export as .jar on the options when exporting when I open up Minecraft with Forge and load the mods it says “TestingStuff.jar is not a .jar file” yet the file is .jar and it was already exported into .jar... idk how to do it, everytime I export as .jar when I try to open up it says it’s not a .jar file. But then I try to put a non .jar file and says it’s not a valid mod file, so then my file IS a valid mod file, but not a .jar file?
