I'm currently trying to make a 1.16.5 mod on version 2021.1.18117, and when i try to create the mod in the first place it, when it says starting gradle daemon in the bottom right, it gives the error: "Java JVM used by Gradle ran out of available RAM!" with code "JAVA_JVM_HEAP_SPACE [-14]. This is very odd as i have 32 GB of ram in my system, and ive even tried setting my max and initial ram as high as 25 GB but it just makes the ram error happen faster than before. the most confusing part about it though, is before it gives the error, if i check my C: drive while its trying to make the workspace, it slowly fills up the 50 free GB until there is only kilobytes left on the drive, and then the error shows. Installing this same version and making a project worked on several other slower systems but refuses to finish on my main computer. The issue with creating the workspace is completely resolved by using the 2021.2 snapshot but then after adding content it will not let me build, and gives an error saying to check if i have the JDK installed.
there was a previous forum post i found that described something similar, including 32 gb of ram and getting the error, and occasionally i also run into the same issue of it opening upwards of 20 "OpenJDK Platform Binary" instances that i have to close seperately, but the solution of setting more initial ram didnt fix it.
the way things are right now are making it virtually impossible to make the mod that i am trying to make for 1.16.5 and im not sure where else to turn after trying nearly everything i could find anywhere, including anything from the current gradle issue page, and im convinced there is nothing left that i can do on my end.
this is the log when I press "Copy error to clipboard": https://pastebin.com/kEBt7hXh
This shoud be resolved in 2021.2
is there an estimate on when that will be released with a fix to the building error?
you can use a snapshot.
Please read the post, like i said, the snapshot does not let me build at all, and is like that on every computer I have used up to this point :(
Next snapshot will resolve some build problems
