Im Trying to make an item that takes some durability when you use it to craft but it doesn't just break. i seen a setting that says stay in crafting and take damage instead of crafting but when i check those it just destroys the item instantly and not just taking 1 durability. idk if im just not understanding the setting or what.

Could you send a picture of your item's settings? My only guess is that maybe your item has a max durability of 1, so if it takes 1 damage it's destroyed.

@shinomora, I have faced…

@shinomora,

I have faced this issue before, I looked around the web to find the answer but, was never presented to one.

Two things I discovered, firstly, make sure your tool you wish to use is actually a tool, rather than an item. I accidently did this, and I wish I caught onto this sooner.

I have also found that, I did not correctly set the durability of the tool itself, make sure your tool has more than 1 durability.

I hope this helped!
