When adding new mod element, I only recieve 7 options being: Advancement, Biome, Dimension, Function, Loot Table, Recipe and Tag.

It sounds like you created a data pack workspace instead of a mod. When creating a new workspace, make sure under "Workspace type" you have "Minecraft Forge Mod" selected (the first one).
