So there is this awful bug that I have been experiencing which if someone else experiences this, MCreator 2022.1 will never come out until it's fixed. I have experienced multiple cases of this and I reported the bug on github and had been closed as "can not reproduce" and "wont fix." As I saw that result I knew someone else could experience it so please if anyone here can, I would like anyone to try what I did.
Things Needed: MacOS and MCreator 2022.1 b15515
Steps: Open up MCreator, open a workspace, close it, shortly after hold the power button on your keyboard until it turns off, turn your computer back on and open MCreator again, then finally open up the previous workspace you were on before you turned off your computer and then the font bug will appear.
As that is my only prediction on how it occurs, I want anyone to replicate it themselves so people know that it exists and needs to be fixed even if there's a longer wait. For anyone on a different os, try it there as it might occur on all versions.

As you wrote ...
Holding the power button while your (any) computer is on will cause an "Improper Shutdown" error ... Hard boot. Understanding how a computer works, it is only recommended to do a hard boot ONLY if your computer is unresponsive. This is not a MCreator issue, this is an "Improper Shutdown" error ... user side error. No one should replicate this error, MCreator is not the cause.
have you by chance heard of ctrl alt delete, it will let you computer safely shutdown
