Elements not displayed

User interface elements do not display, but do respond to clicks. Appears to be text, icons, and frames. If you click the right space, a new dialog appears, but similarly, cannot see anything.

macOS 11.6.8 (Big Sur) -- cannot upgrade beyond 11 because it's a Mid 2014 MacBookPro -- the hand me down for my son who is eager to start his own mods.

Occurs with fresh OS install to new partition, fresh download, latest version of MCreator. Any help would make a kid's dad a hero. :)
