workspace build failed (macOS)

i am trying to make/open an mcreator workspace and every time i get "Workspace setup failed." at "Stopping running gradle daemons" i have plugged an ethernet cable from my router into my mac and all that happened was it stopped at "Setting up gradle project" please any help would be very needed!
