This is a feature. There should be "Max stack size" in the properties menu of a block or an item if I remember correctly.
You "remembered" wrong, this is not a feature, don't blindly post information that isn't true if you're going to respond to someone's legitimate question.
Anyone know how to do this though, even with code
you could just have an item that when right clicked on block sets the block down, but then you need a separate item that spawns it and you may need rotation code as well, thats what i came up with for my cakes because im pretty sure thats all you can do currently, hope this helps
