I wanna make an ore that glows in the dark without lighting up the stone around it. Use emissive rendering does nothing as far as I can tell. I know Minecraft uses emissive texures for entities like Blazes and Endermen, so does it work for blocks?
Yes, it works on a block. A little tutorial: click properties then set the brightness from 1 to 15 and you have a glow-in-the-dark block or you can also check emissive rendering (also in properties).
Did you even read the question? I want the ore itself (the ore part of the ore) to glow in the dark without lighting up the stone around it. And emissive rendering does nothing (and even if it did it would just display the entire block at full brightness)
Maybe I didn't read exactly what you mean because I'm not the best at English. As for your question, it would be difficult to make only part of the texture glow
