Add a new element called "Element Group" and in its settings you can add the items you want in the group.
It functions just the mcreator's built in item groups like Flowers, Dyes, Wood.
Also the option to add items to existing groups for example all wood and adding modded wood,
Got this idea when I tried to make a plastic mod with different versions and had to manually make each recipe for plastic
This is basically what item tags are for, I'm pretty sure that adding something to the minecraft:planks tag will add it to the wooden planks group, for example. You can also create your own item tags to have unique groupings, and there is a button in crafting recipes to add a tag to a recipe, and I'm pretty sure that somewhere in that interface is a dropdown menu that allows you to easily select a tag you have created in the mod.
