I'm changed my mod's name and ID but after I made it and went out of my workspace. Then I saw two projects with old and new names. I deleted new one and left old one (don't ask me why, I even don't remember) but both of them deleted! I tried to remade it but I'm tired so I just abandoned it.
MCreator might have possibly gotten confused, if you can try, press Windows Key + R, and paste in
%USERPROFILE%\MCreatorWorkspaces
this will contain folders to all of your workspaces, try to find the one with your mod name and move it somewhere like your desktop.
put out the files inside the folder, select them all, and right click on one of them in file explorer, click Send To > Compressed File (or zipped or something like that)
Then delete the one that you dont want, and finally, open mcreator, tap on open workspace, and select your zip file.
