I'm trying to make an entity with a "cockpit" section that is only transparent when looking out from the inside, and will appear solid in any other cases. If anyone knows how to do this, either in Blockbench or Mcreator, it would be greatly appreciated!
(while i'm here, is there also a way to hide specific parts of the model to only the player currently riding it?)
just make a flat plane in blockbench and color one side transparent and the other opaque
I don't think that works with entities
oh yeah you're right, sounds this might not be possible without some changes to minecraft's rendering code,
i know i am late to the party, but arent the layer-display procedures client side? if you are meant to ride the entity, try setting something up, that changes a value client side, and set it to the entities uuid. then on the display condition, if you compare the uuid of the entity matches the client side variable, display the transparent texture. if it doesnt, display the solid texture. like on client side, on player tick update, set an nbt on the player to the uuid of whatever entity it is riding, then on the condition, check if the entity is being ridden and if the rider has the correct uuid.
No idea if that works, but might be worth a try.
