i was trying to update my workspace (2024.4) to 2025.3 and everything was fine intill i went to open my project and it was stuck on regenerating code so i left it for a couple hours and i check back on it and it was still messed up so ended it was task manager since it wasnt closed and i redownload the old version to go back and it was missing almost half my mod elements so it went to the backup and after it showed the missing stuff as corrupted or incompatible, im not sure what to do but this mod i been working on for the last 2 years
i was looking in the files and the stuff that was missing says text thats encoded i dont know how to turn it back into normal text
that's not great that you lost the mod file data.
i had too on one of my prior series of mods and i am trying to figure out how to restart those since i lost the files for all of them.
Unless you mess with .mcreator files, you can't open a newer workspace in the old version, and thus, if you modified them manually to open back, bypassing MCreator checks, this is what broke your mod.
MCreator makes a full backup before you open it in the new version that you can find in <workspace folder>/.mcreator in zip format
Are you using any plugins?
At this point, the wisest thing would be to open a bug report with mcreator.log so we could see why it got stuck + reverting back using the automated full backup made for you by MCreator
