hey so i am making a dinner plate or just a plate in general and i need some help making what ever item i want to put into the plate frame to show up but currently it doesnt and i have just rested from scratch
You need custom code to do this easily. Probably using a composite model. Then you would need to code to get the texture of the provided itemstack through some means.
To make it without code. First you would need the item on the plate to be modelled. Eg a 16x16 blank cube on the plate where the item texture would be applied. Then you make blockstates of every item you want to able to be applied to the plate. So you would make a texture of every food item you want.
