Smite-like enchantment

How can I make an enchantment like smite?

I've already seen topics about this, where they suggested simply dealing additional damage based on the level of the enchantment. But in this method if  entity dies from this additional damage, as the looting enchantment (if present on the item) doesn't trigger, and experience doesn't drop. shortly, I need the received damage to be increased by an additional value. If possible, please provide a screenshot of the procedure. MCreator version 2026.1

What you want to do is the following:

if -> Item in main hand of (Source entity) = (Name of your enchant)

do -> Set number of (Local number variable (name it whatever you want)) to: (Any number you want)
Set number global trigger parameter (Entity is attacked - Incoming damage amount) to: ((Local number variable) + (Number dependency: (amount)))

If the source entity (the one doing the damage) has a weapon with your enchantment, then it sets a local variable to certain number and subsequently adds that number to the amount of incoming damage.

You can find the "Set number of local variable" and "Set number global trigger parameter" blocks in the Advanced tab.

Also, make sure the Number Dependency is "amount" or it won't work!

You can additionally do what I did with my enchantment and check if the entity being attacked is in a certain entity tag before adding the damage if you only want it to affect certain mobs.
