Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
This concept had been previously discussed in my other open forums, but alas was left unanswered.
I was wondering if there was anyway to incorporate this concept into MCreator, and if coding is required, I do not mind putting in the effort. I'm experienced in C#, not extremely advanced, but I do understand most of the core concepts. I'm aware that C# is a separate coding language that Minecraft does not use, but Java is quite similar to C# which is why I felt it was relevant to mention.
In regards to the long-term, I think it would be interesting to have this concept incorporated either by MCreator or plugin developers, as I think this idea of mapping the player texture onto a non-player entity has extreme potential, especially in the horror genre. Imagine how cool it would be to see yourself in the distance and then see yourself blink out of existence? Besides horror, this concept has potential for other genres as well in different ways. Nerdy's Custom Entity Models already is halfway there, only needing the link between player texture onto an entity (entity-entity and player-player are already supported). Other than that though, I was wondering if there was a way I could achieve this and if some developer is willing to make this open to all users, especially ones who aren't as familiar with coding as I am!
Thank you and best regards,
MJFan
I think it would need to be a biped model but yeah if you just download whatever player skin you want and make that the entity texture I think it should work.
Oh, I didn't mean I wanted to get a static player skin texture onto an entity. I meant that there should be a getter of a sort to grab a local player's skin texture and then apply it to an entity. Therefore, regardless of who plays the mod, they could potentially see an entity with their player texture on it.
