[2026.1] Can't add textures to anything

Just downloaded mcreator 2026.1 since I want to remake a mod I've been working on for a few years in a newer version of minecraft and have the ability to add stuff like cave biomes. I cannot add textures to anything however. Whenever I try, the texture selection tab just proceeds to infinitely load and never gets past that point despite there being textures in the workspace to use. Fast help would be appreciated!

I have already tried closing and reopening mcreator, and that didn't work.
 
Edit: I tried uninstalling 2026.1 and reinstalling it and I also started a new workspace to make sure it wasnt the workspace that was bugged out, and the texture select screen still gets stuck in an infinite loop of loading
