Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
So, I have this small mob (less than 1 block in size). I need it to spawn in caves. I almost managed to do this using a procedure, but with my current setup, it's only spawning near lava.

okay i tried it on your mcreator version and it works just fine
Maybe it's some setting in my mob then? I think the solution would be to delete and recreate it

I found the problem. Even though the entity was configured as a mob in the behavior tab and a monster in the spawning tab, i had mistakenly left the "Make this entity animal type, breed items" checkbox enabled in the AI and goals tab. Just a silly mistake on my part. Case closed the issue wasn't with the spawn condition procedure after all.
Turns out monsters can't breed after all
