Fluid slows player movement down no matter what settings I change!!

I'm trying to mod in a new fluid, one that's identical to water. However, every time I try to swim through my fluid, it's like trying to swim through quicksand!!! I have changed every setting on my fluid. None of them changed anything. Viscosity. Nothing. Density. Nothing. Temperature. Nothing. I don't know what on earth I could be doing incorrectly. :(
