i am creating a mod that has immortal and super items that gives you powers and i am stuck on super armor i want it to have a rainbow animation that cycles through red, orange, yellow etc.. so does anyone know how????
This would likely require extensive client-side coding to create a custom enchantment glint shader and apply it to items and armor. I would recommend just having an animated item texture and a multicolor armor texture, even though a custom rainbow enchantment glint would be cool.
how do i do it then????
Use item states & disable the glint with procedures.
bro how do i disable the glint LIKE BRO
Make an item state, then when the item is held, if the state = 0 then replace held item with the same thing with the state = 1 and [enchantment_glint_override=0b] with /give. This is how i made a custom totem btw, and it works quite well. Use "/data get entity @s SelectedItem" to find out the tag you need to change on the item with the command.
On item in hand tick: replace item in mainhand with air, execute command /"give @p your_modid:immortal_sword[minecraft:custom_data={state:1b},minecraft:enchantment_glint_override=0b]" in name of event/target entity
