[SOLVED?] Player sent chat only works in a development environment, doesn't work anywhere else?

I've been trying to make a procedure that acts similarly to how in the mod wonderland.jar one of the entities can respond to chat messages when they're active. I've gotten it to work in the developer environment MCreator provides, yet whenever I try to get it to work on an actual Forge installation it doesn't work at all. I'm not sure what is causing it - I thought maybe the wait block, but my testing is inconclusive. Anyone know how I can achieve this effect whilst having it actually work in game? I know it's possible, I've just hit a road block and I've been unable to find any resources to help me along (and quite frankly it's been a tad frustrating, lol).

Here's a smaller version of my actual procedure; everything works identically to this, I'm just using a smaller implementation for testing purposes.

If the info is needed, I'm working with MCreator 2024.4. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I managed to find a workaround by using NBT timers instead of the wait function. Marking this as solved as everything is working as intended now.

This is surely due to the Random number getter block you are using. Random number will be different on the client and on the server, so it causes problems in most uses. This is why you should always add a "If not is client side" condition before. This can easily be known with one of the provided procedure template. I also recommend you to check the playlist containing tutorials.https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAeL-oIFIEngE6jRgFYeFMfuj8WQsO3Ei

Thanks for responding; I did as you suggested and put an "If not is client side" at every point I could think of but I was still getting the same result of it only working in the MCreator dev environment. After further testing, I discovered that my procedure is completely skipping the wait block no matter what I do, so I decided to just swap it out with an NBT timer and that seemed to work for me. Appreciate the assistance, though! :)

A good ctick counter is always a (much) better idea and solution than the wait tick/schedule task after X ticks. We will never say it enough. Good thing you changed your approach :)
