Is there a way to make 1.12.2 mods work on 1.20.1?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is any way to make a mod that was made for Minecraft 1.12.2 work on Minecraft 1.20.1.
I have an older mod that I would really like to use in a 1.20.1 modpack, but it was made for 1.12.2. Is there any way to convert, port, or otherwise make the mod compatible with 1.20.1 using MCreator?
If not, is there a way to recreate the mod's features in MCreator for 1.20.1 without having to completely remake everything from scratch?
Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks!
If you still have your MCreator workspace, simply open it in the latest version of MCreator and the software will handle all the necessary conversions.
it is not a mcreator work space it is just a mod from curse forge
If you have no MCreator workspaces, then it is impossible to open a mod inside MCreator because no workspace data exists.
can i just convert the mod then another way
or is there a mod that makes older mods work on 1.20.1
Unfortunately, there aren’t mods that allow old mods to work on newer versions. You can look on CurseForge/Modrinth if anybody made a port of the mod to a newer version, but they may not of. If the mod is open source, you or the community can manually port the code. If it’s not open source, there is nothing you can do about it unfortunately.
