Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
So, commonly, and sadly, you'll see someone wondering "how do I use 'harvest level to break' thank you in advance!" and you look down to the comments and see there's no comments; as if no one knows how to answer them. This is the problem; the fact that such a simple mechanic, that doesn't seem to work in all my testing, isn't understood... at all. Why? Why doesn't anyone know anything about this program? Or do all these misunderstood topics not work in the first place? I would really like to know, especially because I have the same problems these people are having and I'm looking for an answer. As I referred to "Harvest level to Break"; this is also a very broken feature, I've tried what people have said to do and it doesn't work. Can someone Please at least answer one of these questions, or are you guys that misunderstanding of everything.

I feel you. I ask a question and either get no response or unrelated stuff. No use asking on other sites b/c people only wine about Mcreator. Do you need help with anything in particular? Did not have chance to watch video
The problem with mcreater is that now have a lot of new users, and the old users are grow up and not do anything more with the mcreator... another problem is the wike, before the wike had this type off information, but with the new that have now don't have... how the mcreator is in a process of changing to the 2.0 the program and site will have more problems with the fault of information
Sorry if my english was bad, i'm brazilian
We are looking for anyone who would like to help us maintain the Wiki and other resources. We just don't have enough resources right now to do all this by ourself, so we are looking for anyone ready to contribute :)
I sent an application to help with the wiki
I had started getting into MCreator some months ago 2018 the line and had no problem with gaining information/ tutorials(unless you mention this forum). I try not to ask noob questions on here (unless its related to a user tutorial).
Supposedly this program should be user friendly (I grew up with Photoshop) but sometimes there's technical issues.... and usually people with difficulty using it, don't have what it takes and just want an "easy out", meaning: a "McDonalds-Drive-by" explanation for their tiny little brain to understand....(I think I'm going off-topic, sorry.,.....)
There's more than enough resources on YouTube and other sites and it's a shame not many questions and tutorial are explained here specifically, it's probably that some user-experts have more important things one their hands than tutoring others but I would try asking them about other topics.
I know why most people don't respond to comments:
- Most of them are poorly constructed. They have bad grammar, and are generally so hard to read and follow that most people don't even bother to respond to them. Many comments on the site are (unfortunately) written by little kids who don't know/bother to proofread their questions before posting them in the sea of other poorly written questions like their own.
- OR sometimes people just don't see the comments. An overwhelmingly large amount of people use MCreator and constantly ask simple questions that could be answered by a quick Google search. I'm not saying ALL questions on the forums are like this, but the ones that are cover up the actually important questions.
- Sometimes what people ask is just not possible in the current version of MCreator. I just recently saw an article asking if there was a way to create anvil recipes. The only known way so far is to edit the code directly. People aren't gonna constantly post "you can't do that" or "that's not possible" on every post they see, so they just ignore it and move on.
Hopefully this'll clear you up on why people don't respond to questions. It's not that they "don't know anything", it's that they don't see it, know it's not possible, or can't read it.
4diamondz and rmsandegs have made some very understandable points on this. It would be so much better if people used search on our website. We use a pretty powerful search engine system to make searches better and more on point, yet people somehow find it easier to open a new topic instead of doing minimal search on the website.
I think enforcing the no duplicates might help
