MCreator is a big success in Minecraft's modding community. During the last 5 years of its existence, MCreator has changed a lot, ranging from adding various mod types and options to improve them by adding events, custom drops, emitting particles, shooting arrows and much more. As the MCreator developed, there have been many changes that changed the way MCreator worked and the way you interacted with it. Many of the things were inspired by you, the community.
Last month, we updated the website, the new home of MCreator and we did that for a reason. With that done, we are happy to announce you the plans for MCreator 2. It will come with a whole new user interface and fix many bugs that came with the current version. This version doesn't exist yet, so we want to give you the word, by allowing you to shape the new MCreator in the way you would like it to be.
This forum topic is for you to discuss developer's ideas and suggestions for the new MCreator 2. We are going to be taking the ideas on other forum topics and let you discuss them.
Notice: MCreator 2 is just a concept at this moment. There is no release date yet, nor release date timeframe.
If this haven't been suggested yet (i think it did) i could suggest something like a fence element and the door/trapdoor element to make the creation just easier. For doors / trapdoors right now we need to create an entity destination that places a blocks with a specific event and rotation after powering or rightclicking, plus it needs to keep the rotation. About fences, we need about 10 blocks to specify all the connections. That's why i could suggest making that.

you should make a way a make addons for mcreator similer to forge energy for forge
i think it would be really cool to have trees with saplings to grow them, because having your trees only in one biome and not being able to regrow them after isn't all that great, i have made my own tree system but it was very tedious to make and the leaves do not disappear.
if i use schematics in the event editor i can not control where it will generate, making trees would be easy if you could change the position using the usual I-J-K and X-Y-Z options.
i just realized the event editor is entirely different now, scrap the schematic part
It would be nice if we could import a set of structure files instead of one at a time. I made a few structures in different files and then had to import them one by one. it would be faster if we could do it all at once.
Also it would be helpful if an "update structure file" button was made.
being able to use a tool that you already made to trigger dimension portals instead of the implemented tool in the dimension element it self would be very nice.
What if MCreator in MCreator 2, adds a new custom exporter! Where if you want a 1.8 file, but you made the mod on a different kind of MCreator, then you can make an exporter for 1.11, 1.8, 1.7.10, and more! That would be so great!
the ability to share workspaces with over users
can u guys make an easier way to lock a GUI to a specific item? So both a block and an item?
IMO The best things to add would be:
Easy oredict support (like in the block/item say what the oredict name would be)
Custom Potion Effects. For sure.
Custom brewing recipes and potions as well.
Yes ore dictionary is a must!
This is a request I've left on other posts... but I'll also leave it here, just in case (:
1 - I'll repeat the fact that I GREATLY support the idea of adding config files in MCreator, if not possible at least support for it...
2 - To allow the user to make an OTHER-type of element. Meaning it's NOT any kind of element that might appear on the list. This would allow the user to add special things in by HIMSELF that could not be added in otherwise (by you, Pylo) such as : config files (this would be a way to add support for them in a non-direct way), a camshake or even a whole new kind of system behind the game like races. I'm saying to add this in because MCreator instantly deletes any file that cannot be shown in the Main Workspace.
Basicaly what I mean in number 2 by an OTHER-type element is let us make our own code files from scratch.
