I have a model created with Blockbench, this block works find in 7.4(1.10.2), problem is you can't define block items for check hand for some reason so I moved to 1.8.0 (1.12.2) today so should be the patched version I did use the zip version not the exe installer I don't install in the normal places.
But after importing via 1.8 it gives me a block with black and purple box with test.........mod#invertay so something like that sorry for the bad spelling, but I went back to 7.4 and imported it fine and then updated the workspace and it works fine, so it's not my file at fault here, it's the importer of 1.8.0

This tutorial might help you make a valid model: https://mcreator.net/forum/42354/how-work-blockbench
i been using this tool in MCreator longer then any user posting about it and I just told you it’s working fine in 1.7.4(1.10.2) working fine and I also told you it’s working fine when importing the old workspace there for bench is providing a valid json file.
I will edit and upload the file later today for you, I don’t know if the bug is in 1.7.9 sadly on crappy internet at the moment so unable to download a few 100 meg each time without pulling my hair out so we have to take this bug from 1.8.0 it’s self.
Thanks! The issue is that you exported the model in the file with uppercase letters. MCreator should normalize this in the code to make the name lowercase, but it seems that we did not actually do this.
The current workaround is to use lowercase only file names for models, but the automatic handling of this will be implemented in 1.8.1.
BTW, nice model :)
Thanks for making sure I wasn't going mad and making sure I didn't do something wrong I will re-try this later with newer models, that model is of a paper mill as I believer we going little wrong this day and age to create paper :) I will I hope post my next update mod to both here and curse but net is not that good so not sure when that will be lol
Did this happen with MCreator 1.7.9 too? Please attach the model you are importing to the ticket (click edit and add the attachment) so I can try to reproduce this bug. Thanks!
