Problems with .Json Files

I'm trying to create blocks with custom models (simple slabs) but whenever I try using the .json format I get an unspecified error. I know when I try making a block with a custom model and the option to select a texture shows up it appears. The version of Mcreator I am using is 1.8.1 (the most current version).

Here are the images.

Th first one pops up just as the model is uploaded. You're supposed to choose a texture and it has nothing to choose.

No Textures to select.

Hmmm where did you make this model ?
Was it in Blockbench or MrCrayfish Model Maker or ETC ?
It looks like your model don't have defined textures "I mean that you didn't set textures while making model"
and that's why MCR is unable to find place for texture

It was with MrCrayfish Model Maker. So just add a texture to it then?

You have to import your texture to MrCrayfish Model Maker and assign it to the sides for your block than export it
