Issue description

CONSOLE:

Executing gradle command: cleanCache clean setupDecompWorkspace --refresh-dependencies
Build info: MCreator 1.8.1, 64-bit, 4096 MB, Mac OS X - bash, JVM 1.8.0_191, JAVA_HOME: null

ISSUE:

I am trying to update Mcreator from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1 but the setup fails. What happens is during the setup, it won't progress past "Setting up Minecraft Forge MDK" and "Downloading dependencies and compiling", it just stops there. I have the latest JDK and Forge versions and let it run for about 5 hours and it did not progress at all. I tried checking for updates on everything required. I tried two different Macs, both failed. 1.8.0 was working just fine.

EDIT: Noticed it might have something to do with java_home. As in 1.8.0 there is no java home in the console, however there is a java_home: null in 1.8.1.

Issue comments

Please open a terminal and run these commands in it:

  • bash
  • echo $JAVA_HOME

Please report back with the results you get. Thanks!

No need to, I got more info in this forum thread: https://mcreator.net/forum/45308/console-problems

You need to define the JAVA_HOME in this file: /etc/environment and then restart your Mac to make it work. I will fix this bug and re-release 1.8.1 so you can download and install it again to get this fixed. I will notify you when the release will be made.

I have fixed this bug.

UPDATE (11. 11. 17:10 CET)

We have released another patch update. This one fixes issues #45327 and #45312 and adds minor improvement to the code locking system. If you would like to have these fixes and have downloaded MCreator 1.8.1 before this notice was posted, you can download and install MCreator again to get them. If you downloaded MCreator after the time of this notice, you don't have to do anything.
