This is the pain i have to go through with making a realistic cannabis growing mod. I needed a 3 block tall plant that goes through too many bloody stages, i went mental keeping track of it all. It works though, after alot of errors it does work, however i just can't pursaude myself to make another plant yet lol.
Might be a while till my mod is out, however it should be filled with tons of things for the player to make and grow.
No way am i going to do strains until there is an easier way of making these long winded plants. Took me about 2-3 days trying to get the plants to grow and break when the bottem block is broken, i haven't even bothered with drops yet. that can wait.

You probably just used an inefficient way of doing it.
On Neighbour Change, simply check whether the right plant/ground is below it. Else replace yourself with air and possible drop a gem.
On tick update on the bottom plant: make it place the next stage above it and at its current location.
Something like that.
Thats what i ended up doing, the only reason im complaining is the fact i have to sift through about 20 differant plant blocks to do everything to mimic how a cannabis plant would grow as well as finding which block is causing the problems when growing, I have no issues atm, just stating how stressful it is when working with a million different block stages.
I get the frustration... I tried making a corn crop that would grow 3 blocks tall and each block had tons of stages too. I ended up scrapping the idea because I had such a headache from it lol.
If there is no ticket yet (I believe there is not one yet), one of you can open a ticket for crop plant type so this does not get forgotten :)
