As we know, although the texture update published and a long time past, but the templates from MCreator is still using the older version and the older design of the textures. So if we use it to generate textures, they will be ugly in latest versions. So please update them! I don't want to see them in newer versions again! They are for 1.13.x or earlier versions!
Just make your own textures. The cool part about making mods is to make something that no one made before. The best mods are the most creative. Just look at the MOTWs.
Also, you can always look up an image of a grayscale item/block and retexture it with 75% transparent colors. Don't manually recolor it, but overlay it with 75% transparent colors. Hope this helps.
We do not supply vanilla textures because that is not legal
You can also use novaskin to make textures and then import them into Mcreator.
