Here's an easy guide for anyone who wishes to make a multi-block item (or weapon, tool or ranged item, they all work the same). Since you can't make that with the built-in MCreator features, you're need to use Blockbench, either directly on their website or downloading it and using it. First, let's say you wanna make a spear. You make a texture in MCreator, but one which has it's body really short (you'll see why). Now, you export it as a PNG file on your PC. Now, you drag and drop it into Blockbench, and select "extrude image". Now, you have it there as a single-block texture. You use the resize tool to enlarge the middle part, until it does look like a spear. You can make it 1,5 blocks long, 2 blocks long or basically even 10 blocks long if you really want. After you're done making it, you click on "File", then "Export", and then "Export as block/item model", which is gonna export it as a JSON file, with which MCreator works out nice. Back To mcreator, you import it by going to "resources", selecting in the up-left corner "3D models and texture mappings" and add it there. Don't forget to make sure that your item will be using the mapping you created, and not the normal one.
That's pretty much, hope it helped you.
