Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
So, basically i wanted to make a scythe weapon (and other stuff too), i wanted the scythe to deal 5 extra damage to entities without helmet...i have the procedure but ik that in the way minecraft works, with mcreator is basically impossible. Minecraft has a 10ticks delay when an entity is hurt, so trying to deal another value of damage is going to make the game crash or the damage is completely ignored. I really need help since i'm stuck on this problem for 1 month, i'm currently using 2024.4 version of MCreator. Thanks

Ohhh i'm sorry... i have a damage tracker sorta thing that tells me how much damage i'm making and it didn't tell me the bonus damage that i was dealing but it works... one thing... i'm not pretty sure that the damage is done by me... (I think it's just damage with no source)
it shouldn't change the source
you should be able to test this by killing a tamed pet

i have one more thing that it's strange... my scythe does 9.5 hearts of damage and takes 8 hits to kill an iron golem... if i put the set_amount to 9.5 it takes 10 hits to kill the iron golem... how does this work...? It replaces damage or does it ADD damage?
it should replace the damage
ohh ok, but i think it does less damage bc crits don't work with this system, but with normal attacks the scythe does the right damage
oh yeah it would probably override crits. I'm not sure you can do much about that sadly
well, i'm keeping this until i find a better solution, at least it works :) ... i can't genuinely believe that no one ever found a solution to this bruh...
