Things that NEED to be added/fixed for the 2025.4 Update

Hello, I am making this thread because there are a lot of things that I would like to use in MCreator but I simply haven't gotten the opportunity to do yet, as well as some features that need a little bit of fixing.

Issues that need fixing

  • The model layers do not sync with the animations of the mob. Which means that if, for example, I gave my mob glowing eyes, then if it were to be animated, the glowing eyes model would stay static the entire time.
  • The default arrow projectile comes up as a flat image. While yes, it could be fixed easily, it would be nice to have the option to make a mob shoot the default 3d arrow.
  • Mobs can't disable shields properly, even if I made it so the mob gives the shield a cooldown, the shield would still block just fine if I just simply kept holding the right-hand button of a mouse.
  • Conversely, there is no way to block status effects when a mob hits you even if your shield blocks the base damage from the mob, and if I add the "Is blocking" part to the procedure, then the mob will never give me the effect as long as I have the shield, even if the shield doesn't block the attack, which consequently, means I still take damage.
  • There is seemingly no way to get rid of the pockets of lava in my custom dimensions that are located deep underground, even if I wanted to make an entirely oceanic world.
  • There also seems to be no way of giving the mob a flying or a swimming animation, which would be very limiting to people like myself who want to make flying mobs and mobs that can go underwater and swim.

Features that need adding

  • A skeleton model would be really helpful for making basic skeletal mobs, as well as adding skeleton animations to the default animations that can be picked. The skeleton models should be able to visibly hold items like the skeletons do in the base game.
  • Zombie animations would also be very useful, especially for creating basic zombie-like mobs.
  • The stray and the drowned models would also be good for adding on to the default models (since they are technically different from the zombie and the skeleton models). The drowned animations would also be useful if I wanted to make a swimming humanoid mob with the biped model. The stray and drowned models should also have the ability to visibly hold items.
  • Additionally, it would also be neat to add some of the player animations (crawling, flying, sneaking, swimming, etc) into the default mob animations, as well as making a much easier way to give mobs a way to be able to have swimming and flying animations to begin with, as I have stated earlier.

Clarification

  • Yes, it is indeed possible for me to give my custom mob the skeleton model, although it required me to code it in directly and I haven't been able to get the animations working (because I used ChatGPT for it). So it is indeed possible, but I (as well as many others) would much prefer the skeleton model (as well as some of the other models and animations I've listed before) to be default features instead of having to go through hours of coding just to make a simple mob.

As you can see, most (if not all) of the features an fixes aren't anything too groundbreaking or difficult to add, just small features that mod developers such as myself can really benefit from, and if these issues were to be fixed and the features were to be added, many people including myself would really appreciate these simple, yet awesome changes.

Doing the same with adding illager models and animations would also be cool.
