Wed, 07/24/2019 - 19:44 (edited)

Hello everyone,

This topic is only to help you with the Creature Type, when you create a mob.

Undead : It's all mob like Zombies and Skeletons.

Arthropod : Those are spiders and cave spiders.

Illager : Those are illagers, like Vindicator, and Illusionist.

Undeafined : It is all other mobs of Minecraft.

Hoping that this tutorial/topic helped you.

Put your mob type to Undeafined, and create an AI for an agressive monster.

Mechanically what does the illager tag actually do? The other creature tags clearly have stuff to do with enchantments, what does the illager tag do? I doubt it adds them to raids as I would assume that would be a list of creatures as opposed to a script that checks all creatures for the tag. Does it have something to do with bad omen?

I might be wrong, but I've made an educated guess that the Undead creature type is the only creature type with anything specifically built into it, since each Undead mob in vanilla possess the same sort of properties pertaining to certain potion effects. Other than that, the Arthropod creature type, as well as the Illager creature type, don't seem to possess any universal properties in their classes; It's likely that enchantments such as Bane Of Arthropods check for the creature type instead of the creature type checking for the enchantment, since enchantments aren't effects and that a weapon or tool's attack values are built into the tools themselves. As for the Illager creature type, it's likely just there to help with raids in determining a raid's given health bar.
