I'm trying to make my own custom sounds for a mob but every time I use the playsound command to check it always never plays.

what version are you using? I am using the latest version and the custom sounds work just fine. I think I read a issue before about play sound command not working with those, idk, things work fine for me.
If you are using the latest version and sounds don't work, it means that their format is not valid.
I'm using the latest version of mcreator (1.8.3)
Is possible that I can't use sounds from 1.13?
You should be able to as far as I know.
I just recently imported tons of custom sounds and they all work so I guess I just had bad luck that day
