Setting time in dimension doesn't work.

I know the idea of adding a day night cycle has been going around, but before we're there, I've tried to make my dimension dark. I know there's a setting for low light dimension, but I don't want that one as it blurs vision by too much.

I tried the set time command and put it on an item. I notice that it gets darker, but soon it ticks back as if there's something resetting the time in dimensions every 2 seconds or so.

Any ideas on how to tackle this? I simply want to set time to 19.000 and keep it that way in a specific dimension.

Then I have a few questions:

1. Do nightmobs only spawn when the dimension is set to "low light dimension"? Is this the switch between day and night?

2. That without the low light dimension, it is impossible for caves to be dark inside? (This is the case for me, as they are fully lit by light somehow)

3. That when creating custom normally night mobs, I should make them like pigs so that they just spawn as time as always set to day?

4. When picking low light dimension, is it possible to increase viewing range?

I have solved this problem. You need to have global light source off as well as having sky light from the sun. this will result in a very overworld-like dimension
