So, I know this can be done by hand by going into the workspace's folder's texture folder, but that is extremely tedious. Frankly, the default textures that are generated automatically when creating a material/ore/tool/armor pack are...ugly. Like they're made for a Minecraft clone, not a Minecraft mod. I get it though; copyright and all that.
It would be much more beneficial and less of a pain if we could simply select existing textures for new elements when using the pack generation buttons, or opt-in to using the automatically generated textures if so desired.
yes
How to solve the problem:
1. Make all of your textures for your blocks and items.
2. Name them where the ore pack would overwrite them.
3. Go to your workspace folder and go to workspacefolder/src/main/resources/assets/mod_id/textures and search for your ore name and select all of your textures.
4. Cut and paste them outside of the textures folder.
5. Create your ore pack.
6. Paste your block textures and item textures in the corresponding folders, remove remaining textures and if it asks you to replace/overwrite the files, click yes.
7. Adapt your new mod elements.
