Ranged Item cooldown and draw-back settings
Tue, 04/21/2020 - 23:16

Right now, the ranged items do not have a default way to set a cooldown for use. They also have no draw-back settings meaning that I can right-click once and it shoots at full power (and at all). I do not have to hold the button at all.

If I am just blind and completely wrong about this please direct me as to how it is done. :)

Why would I want to do that?…

Why would I want to do that? It would make it automatic like a gun!

I want it to operate like a normal bow, and it's looking like that's something MCreator doesn't support, but I may be wrong.

Hi!

I tried it and it made it worse. It didn't do what I'm asking.

"Right now, the ranged items do not have a default way to set a cooldown for use. They also have no draw-back settings meaning that I can right-click once and it shoots at full power (and at all). I do not have to hold the button at all."

What I want is to be able to have a normal bow. I want to be able to set the cooldown for shooting, and I want the bow to pull back when right-click is held. As I said, what you suggested did exactly as I had predicted and just turned it into a machine gun.

Please read my post before replying next time. Thanks.

You can just not hold right click ? Just click once! Or you meant you want delay after each shot ? You can use block "When ranged item used" and use "Cool down for item..." ?

He wants it to be a bow. He wants it to have an animation when pulling it back, and for it to travel a different distance depending on how much you draw it before firing.

Unfortunately, though, this isn't possible. I have tried to add an item like this myself, but MCreator is just not cut out for this, sadly.
