When you make a end dimension you only spawn on 1 island and other islands are 1000 blocks away. Make it more like the sky buffet type world to make it possible for more than 1 island.
Yep, it would be useful!
While this feature isn't implemented, you can write in the chat /tp @s ~ ~ ~1000 . This command should send you to the outer islands.
