How to transfer a mod made in MCreator for Minecraft version 1.12.2, to another version. For example, 1.16.5 or 1.17.1

I am currently making a mod for Minecraft version 1.12.2. Is it possible to transfer it to newer versions?

This should be possible if you get MCreator ver. 2021.1

Then install the 1.12 plugin

Then go to the workspace settings and set the Minecraft version to 1.16.5, save and let it rebuild.

Then get the newest build of MCreator and go to the workspace settings and set the Minecraft version to the newest.
