Datapack Assistance

Hey All!

Mostly, just a question-and if it can't be done. I was given permission from the developer of this mod: Nyf's Quivers for Version 1.16.5, to create a Datapack for personal use.

I've never actually made a Datapack before, and I was hoping MCreator would be able to be used to help me make it.

Nyf's Quivers, for those not familiar, adds a Quiver to the Game that players can equip to a "Quiver Slot" when using the Curios API - the problem is, for balance in my pack I wanted to shift the quiver to use the "Back Slot" from Curios instead of this Quiver Slot to avoid having people with quivers AND other beneficial back slot items. The quiver ALSO shows on the back, which some other back slot items do as well and its creates graphical glitches with the items overlapping. Which would be fixed if I could just pick and choose what I'd like to have on my back.

The Developer said this could be done using a DATApack, but didn't share how to make this happen inside a datapack. My hope-was that there was a means to change or alter a tag, or something that removes the Quiver Slot provided by Nyf's, and changes the Quiver item in Nyf's to use the Back Slot instead.

IF this is too much and too complex for MCreator that's totally ok, I just noticed there was a Datapack help and ability, and I wanted to give it a shot.

I suggest not using the Mcreator datapack generator. You should make the datapack from scratch (the curios wiki explains it). If you want to change the curios slots I (think) you can use their wiki: https://github.com/TheIllusiveC4/Curios/wiki/How-to-Use%3A-Users

I'm not too used to using curios but I think it will work. Good luck
