Remake Vanilla Biomes?

So, I am making a mod that revamps existing minecraft features such as structures, biomes, mobs, ext. However there are no tutorials on how to replace existing minecraft biomes with your own. I know its possible as I have seen many youtubers do it before and they also used MCreator. I am just wondering if there is someone to guide me in the right direction?

You can't replace them you can just change them cosmetically with custom plants and structures that are generated in the existing biome to change it like island structures to do that say and a lot of these combined will be enough to mask the pre-existing biome into a visually new one. Keep in mind though you aren't replacing them just modifiying them HEAVILY....
